THE JAZZ EXCHANGE ACADEMY PROGRAM  OCTOBER 2023 - JUNE 2024 Empower Your Musical Journey

The Jazz Exchange Academy, created by The Jazz Exchange, is a program designed to transform young musicians aged 11-18. We aim to empower and educate them through music education classes, including improvisation, music theory, small ensemble, and big band. Jazz is the ultimate platform for young individuals to transform into community leaders and global citizens. It empowers them to discover their distinctive voice both on and off the stage, even after they leave The Jazz Exchange Academy. Through partnerships with community mentors and alumni, our program enables the next generation to establish valuable connections, seize opportunities, and thrive in the arts and other diverse fields beyond just performing music on stage.

Who is this for?

This program is designed for those interested in improving their musical abilities, whether they are seasoned musicians or aspiring ones. It is also perfect for those with a growth mindset who are looking to collaborate with other like-minded individuals to perform together as a group and be part of their local community.

Jazz Academy Details

• Dates: October 16 - June 2, 2023
• Time: 6:00pm - 8:45 pm Monday and Wednesday
• Location: Sanchez Studios
• Age Range: 11-18 yrs

Concerts + Performances

• Winter Concert - February 4, 2024
• End of Year Concert - June 2, 2024
• Students will have the opportunity to perform in the community and special events throughout the calendar year

Tuition

$1,230 - Big Band

$830 -Small Ensembles

All options require:

1. $100 deposit for small ensembles (to be applied to the registrant’s tuition upon placement) and $200 deposit for Big Band.
2. $30 Registration Fee (to be applied towards tuition fee)

*Nonrefundable and nontransferable deposit and Registration Fee. The deposit will confirm students' participation and will be confirmed once audition materials are submitted.

AUDITION GUIDELINES + SUBMISSION INFORMATION All auditions will be submitted via YouTube. Students MUST download and carefully read the 2023-24 guidelines and audition materials for each instrument.​

 GUIDELINES

After AUDITION VIDEOS are submitted, students will receive an email with their class placements, dates, and times. Students are placed into ensembles based on experience level. This email will come a few days after submitting their audition videos. Once students have received their placement email parents can then register the student for the class assigned to them.
